The Art of Keeping Beauty

How to wear and care for vintage-inspired jewelry so each piece stays at its best.

Beautiful jewelry deserves a little care. With a few simple habits, your DIMIRA pieces will keep their shine and colour for years to come.

Last on, first off

Put your jewelry on after perfume, lotion and hairspray have dried, and take it off before you shower, swim, exercise or clean. Water, chemicals and sweat are the main reasons plating loses its glow over time.

Gentle cleaning

Wipe each piece with a soft, dry jewelry cloth after wearing it. If it needs more, use a little lukewarm water with a drop of mild soap, then dry it completely with a soft cloth. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners, steam and harsh polishing pastes, especially on gold-plated surfaces and on softer stones such as opal.

Store with care

Keep every piece separately in its DIMIRA leather case or in the DIMIRA box, away from humidity and direct sunlight. Storing pieces apart prevents scratches and helps each piece stay bright.

Gemstone notes

Opals prefer to avoid sudden temperature changes and long soaking in water. Harder stones such as topaz and garnet are more resistant, but every stone can chip with a hard knock, so take rings off before heavy work.

When to ask us

If a stone feels loose or a clasp no longer closes well, stop wearing the piece and contact us at [email protected]. We are happy to help.
